Where are they now

It's almost two years since the Canaries beat Chelsea to win the FA Youth Cup. How have the young heroes fared since their glorious triumph? Two years may not seem like a long time but in football a lot can happen during this period. Eight members of the squad have made their competitive debuts since the success, five of them for the Norwich first team. A few of them didn't make the grade at Carrow Road and another one ended up selling his soul to the devil so to speak! Read on...

Southampton's youth team goalkeeper Will Britt joined the Canaries on work experience in January 2013. After his successful spell at Carrow Road, Britt turned professional with the Saints in July 2013 and during the same month was called up by Gibraltar for internationals against the Faroe Islands and Estonia. Britt has had loan spells at Bognor Regis Town and Maidenhead United. Britt's hero is former England goalkeeper David James.

Right-back Cameron Norman signed a two year professional contract with the Canaries in May 2014. He is currently a member of the Under 21s development squad but has yet to make a first team appearance.

Ben Wyatt was the Canaries left-back during their Youth Cup triumph but was released by the club in May 2014. However he signed a professional contract with Ipswich Town shortly afterwards. "It would have been good to stay (at Norwich) but the club decided otherwise", said Wyatt.

Midfielder Cameron McGeehan scored from the spot in both legs of the Final against Chelsea, the club that released him in 2011. McGeehan joined Luton Town on loan in January 2014 and stayed until the end of the season, helping them win the Conference and return to the Football League. In January 2015 he joined Cambridge United on a month's loan and scored a brace on his debut against Newport County. He then played in two FA Cup matches against Manchester United. He has recently returned to Luton for another loan spell. Although he was born in London, McGeehan has represented Northern Ireland's Under 21s. He has yet to play for the Canaries' first team but was an unused substitute against Crawley in the Capital One Cup (26.8.14).

Irish born centre-half Kyle Callan-McFadden made his first team debut in the 3-1 victory against Crawley and played the whole 90 minutes. However he hasn't been elected since.

Harry Toffolo, a defender who has represented England at youth level is eligible to play for Italy because of his father. Toffolo was also involved against Crawley and like McGeehan was an unused substitute. Toffolo joined Swindon Town of League One on loan in October 2014 and is still there as I write. Toffolo recently admitted that his future may lie away from Carrow Road.

Murphy twinsWinger Jacob Murphy scored in the second leg against Chelsea and made his first team debut for Norwich against Fulham in the FA Cup (4.1.14), coming on as a substitute for his brother Josh (See pic left). Jacob joined Blackpool on loan in November 2014 and scored on his debut against Fulham. He then netted against Bolton and won Blackpool's Player of the Month. However Jacob's time at Bloomfield Road turned sour when he mocked his team on a website called Snapshot with the caption, "We are going to lose - again". Murphy apologised to Blackpool boss Lee Clark but he was having nothing of it and sent him back to Carrow Road. Jacob has also been loaned to Swindon, Southend and Scunthorpe. Clearly he prefers playing for clubs beginning with the letter S!

Midfielder Henry Randall who wore the number 8 shirt in both matches against Chelsea was born in Ipswich but was capped by Northern Ireland Under 19s. He was released by the Canaries in May 2014 and joined non-league Histon in June 2014 on a non-contract basis.

Carlton Morris won a penalty in the second leg at Stamford Bridge, following a challenge by Alex Davey. He also scored a hat-trick against Everton in the sixth round. The Cambridge born striker signed professional in December 2013 but hasn't broken into the first team yet. In August 2014 Morris joined Oxford United on a 6 month loan and made 9 appearances (2 as sub), scoring once. He then joined York City on loan in November 2014 ( 8 appearances, no goals) before returning to Carrow Road in February 2015.

Programme

Cameron King (midfield) signed professional forms for the Canaries in May 2014 and made his first team debut against Shrewsbury Town in the Capital One Cup (23.9.14) as a 79th minute substitute for Kyle Lafferty. In November 2014 King was called up by Scotland Under 21s (even though he was born in Bury St Edmunds) and scored on his debut against Switzerland.

Winger Josh Murphy has easily been the most successful Youth Cup winning hero making 29 appearances for the first team so far (up until 22.2.15), scoring 4 goals including an absolute screamer against Watford in the League Cup (24.9.13) on his debut.

Harvey Hodd who plays in the centre of midfield came on as a substitute for Henry Randall at Stamford Bridge and was released by the Canaries at the end of the 2014/15 season. However in December 2014 he was offered a professional contract by the Cod Army, that's Fleetwood Town of League One to me and you!

Striker Rod Young came on as sub for Cameron King in both games against Chelsea. Unfortunately he didn't make the grade with Norwich and was released at the end of the 2013/14 season. In May 2014 Young signed for Conference team Welling United. However after just 3 appearances for Welling he was loaned to Bishops Stortford where he had spent a successful spell on loan in March 2014.

Reece Hall-Johnson (midfield) didn't play in the Final but played in both Semi-Final matches against Nottingham Forest, scoring the winning goal in the first leg at the City Ground. Hall-Johnson made his first team debut for the Canaries against Crawley (26.8.14) as a substitute for another Youth Cup hero Josh Murphy in the 65th minute.
