It wasn't that long ago that Leeds United were jokingly described as Norwich City's feeder club when all their decent players ended up signing for the Canaries, well four to be precise. However the Leeds supporters finally got their own back last season when they beat us twice and drew the other match after being 3-0 down.

The Leeds/Norwich connection was finally laid to rest with Johnny Howson signing for Middlesbrough on July 7th 2017 for a reported fee of £6m. The former Whites captain left Norwich in an apparent negative manner with Howson claiming he was homesick but it seems more likely that he didn't see eye to eye with new sporting director Stuart Webber and new head coach Daniel Farke, which was a pity really because Johnny Howson left us with some fantastic memories during his time at Carrow Road, including arguably the best goal ever scored by a Norwich City player against Nottingham Forest in February 2017.

Howson joined City for £2m in January 2012 but didn't make his debut until eight weeks later against Stoke City because of a knee injury. Howson scored 24 goals in 188 appearances and was player of the season in 2015/16 following the Canaries' relegation from the Premier League.

It was Bradley Johnson however who set the trend for the Leeds exodus to Carrow Road in July 2011 when he signed a three year deal with City after three and a half years at Elland Road. The Hackney born midfielder helped seal the Canaries' first away victory in the top flight for 17 years when he scored his first goal for the club against Bolton Wanderers in September 2011. There were rumours that Johnson was going to be rewarded for his fine form for his new club with an England call up but this never happened.

In 2014/15 Johnson scored 15 goals for City, most of them crackers, to help Alex Neil's boys to promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt. Not surprisingly he won the player of the season award but on September 1st 2015 Johnson was sold to Derby County in a shock £6m deal. Johnson was gutted to leave Carrow Road and we were gutted to see him leave because his brilliant goals had helped us win many matches during 2014/15 including a 4-2 win against bogey side Fulham, our first win against the Cottagers for 29 years. Johnson scored a brace and an own goal!

Robert Snodgrass was the next Leeds favourite to sign for Norwich in July 2012 for an undisclosed fee. After making his debut in the 5-0 thrashing at Fulham in August 2012 (Hughton's first game in charge), Snodgrass scored 6 Premier League goals and finished runner-up behind Sebastian Bassong in the player of the season award. Snodgrass had a bit of a love/hate relationship with the Norwich faithful but was capable of pulling something spectacular out of the bag. He was very reliable at free-kicks from outside the box but not so good when it came to penalties and once nicked the ball off Ricky Van Wolfswinkel when he was about to take a spot-kick against Aston Villa and duly missed.

When Snodgrass left Norwich to sign for newly promoted Hull City in June 2014 not everyone was sad to see him leave because of his arrogant attitude. Then a serious knee injury on his league debut for the Tigers put him out of action for a year. Some Norwich fans probably had a quiet chuckle to themselves about Snottygrass and his bad luck but not me obviously!

Luciano Becchio scored 76 goals for Leeds in 190 appearances and when he joined the Canaries on January 31st 2013 with City striker Steve Morison leaving in the opposite direction it seemed as if Chris Hughton had pulled off a fine swap. However after making his debut against Fulham on February 9th 2013 Becchio hardly got a look in. To boost his confidence Becchio was loaned to Rotherham United in September 2014 and lo and behold he scored twice in five appearances for the Millers. Most of the Argentinian's 16 appearances for Norwich were from the subs bench and when he did eventually come on the field Becchio hardly had anytime to make an impression. The Carrow Road faithful would will him on to score a goal but it was not to be and at the end of the 2014/15 season he was released by the club.
