With a name like Elvis you're always likely to be remembered but Elvis Hammond will not be remembered by Norwich fans for the right reasons. He joined City on a month's loan in August 2003 from Fulham following rave reviews and made 4 totally forgettable appearances. As usual injuries got in the way and he didn't live up to his early potential. In 2012 Elvis was singing "Jailhouse Rock" when he was sent to prison for being involved in a money laundering scam.
Manchester United reserve team striker Alex Notman was signed by Bryan Hamilton in November 2000 after the Canaries had a bid for Notman's teammate David Healy turned down. Notman scored just one goal for City during a 3-2 home defeat by Burnley in April 2001 (although he also won a penalty which Iwan Roberts converted). Notman made 61 appearances during his injury plagued time as a Canary. However he was often used as a substitute, in fact he came off the bench 26 times out of 35 during 2001/02.
Trevor Benjamin is a "Journeyman" player having represented 29 different clubs during his career. His 5 games (2 as sub) on loan at Carrow Road in the early months of 2002 saw him score not a single goal and the Canaries win just once. Benjamin who scored 35 goals in 123 appearances (1995-2000) for Cambridge United earlier in his career totally failed to make an impact.
In March 1989 Dave Stringer signed Dean Coney from Q.P.R for £350,000 hoping that the former England under-21 international would score the goals to help the Canaries win the League Championship because they were flying high at the time. However the omens were not good as Coney had failed to score in 16 appearances for Rangers that season. Not surprisingly Coney's Norwich career was an absolute disaster, 17 appearances, 1 goal. His only goal for the Canaries was off his backside in a home game against Aston Villa. Coney got an cruciate injury in a reserve match for City which practically ended his career.
Aaron Wilbraham joined City in January 2011 after scoring over 50 goals for Milton Keynes Dons. Unfortunately it didn't really work out for him at Carrow Road but Canary fans will remember his only 2 Norwich goals at Leicester and Fulham. Wilbraham has scored in all 4 divisions of English football and is currently banging them in for Bristol City in League One.
When John Deehan signed Mike Sheron from Manchester City for £1m in August 1994 it looked like "Dixie" had got himself a bargain. Unfortunately it couldn't have been further from the truth as Sheron had an absolute nightmare at Carrow Road being plagued by injury and a lack of form, scoring just 2 league goals in 28 appearances. Funnily enough when he left City to join Stoke City in October 1995 (in exchange for Keith Scott) he couldn't stop scoring for them, 39 times in 71 starts.
When Harry Redknapp signed Omar Koroma for Portsmouth from Banjul Hawks in 2008 he became the first Gambian to sign a deal with a Premier League club. Redknapp allowed Koroma to join Glenn Roeder's Norwich City on a season long loan to gain some first team experience and he made his debut against Coventry in August 2008. However Koroma suffered a serious ankle injury in late December 2008 after only 5 appearances (3 as sub) for City with no goals, Koroma's Norwich career was over.
